If we could look down from above
Would we see constellations off
You and me revolving around
Our own lives

Are we like stars, set in out way
Only to fall and burn one day
Do we shine, not knowing
Our own light

What is forever
When every sky shows
As soon as one light's out
Another one glows

All of us wonder
Where do we go
Is it dark, is it light
Nobody really knows

When we wish upon a star
For our souls to meet again afar
Does it come true or is it just
A nursery rhyme

And when my time on earth is done
Is a shooting star what I become
Was an impression made
Or do I just fade from your mind

So what is forever
